Textile Paintings
Inspired by traditional Japanese techniques and abstract minimalism, these unique pieces exist somewhere between art and textile craft. Original artworks are created through a process of considered layering, washing, and the passage of time, each stage becoming embedded within the natural linen. Hand stretched canvases with pure Belgium linen, the weave and imperfections of the fabric are celebrated rather than smoothed away.
While the majority of these pieces are relatively small, they become the basis for Hannah’s ‘Evolutions’ artworks which are at a larger scale.
